More than 40,000 power outages were reported early Thursday morning as a nor’easter ripped through Connecticut. Strong winds and rain blew across the region Wednesday leaving thousands without electricity as police and fire departments and utility companies scrambled to keep up with reports of downed trees and power lines.
As of 9:30 p.m., nearly 9,000 United Illuminating and Eversource customers across Connecticut were without power. Damage was extensive, with various towns and cities reporting blocked roads and downed wires and trees.
In the event of any dangerous situation such as fire, wires down, or an other life-threatening situation you should call 911.
